In my last blog, I shared some exciting news!
I'm developing an online course called The High Value Music Studio: Build a Successful Business You Love Without Burnout to help dedicated private music teachers like you build financially successful businesses they love while avoiding burnout and overwhelm.
(Missed the blog? Click here.)
The course will be available later this year and will give you the step-by-step blueprint I used to:
find and keep my ideal students
streamline administrative processes, and
build a profitable business that compliments my goals and lifestyle
In today's blog, I'm focusing on one part of the framework I'll share in The High Value Music Studio: the recruitment process.
My recruitment process centers around 5 key strategies that I share in my FREE guide, 5 Easy Ways to Grow Your Music Studio.
I used the strategies in the guide to grow my studio 300% in less than a year (no joke!) when I quit my full-time administrative job and had to grow my studio fast.
The value of the recruitment process I use is that it enables you to effectively grow your studio without an advertising budget or online marketing expertise.
If you're struggling to build your studio, you may think the best ways to find new students include posting your profile on every music teacher site you can think of, taking out costly ads, or telling friends you're taking new students and hoping for the best.
These strategies can help, but neither strategy enables you to build an effective long-term recruitment engine that funnels quality students to your studio doorstep.
The question is: Are you OK building your studio with "blind" one-off recommendations, phone calls, or online queries, or do I want to build a robust recruitment engine that helps you find committed, high-quality students for years to come?
If the second option has you thinking, "yes, I want that!" then you're in the right place!
Here's the thing...
A good recruitment strategy is more than just getting "musical butts in seats". And building a robust recruitment engine means functioning from the idea that teaching is a relationship-based business.
The sooner you start building good relationships with other music teachers, leverage the positive relationships you have with existing students, and thoroughly vetting potential new students, the easier and more effective your recruitment process will be.
The guide 5 Easy Ways to Grow Your Music Studio offers creative strategies to do just that. These strategies help you:
Build relationships with area music teachers in school music programs who can become your advocates and recruitment resources
Get to know potential full-time students over the more relaxed summer session so you can fill slots in the fall with high-quality students
Harness the power of the positive relationships you've already built with existing students and parents to find more good students
Fun fact? I did no online marketing to grow my studio 300% in less than a year. The vast majority of my students came from:
referrals from existing students
referrals from school music teachers I built relationships with
summer introductory lessons that I used road signs to advertise
In The High Value Music Studio course, I'll give you detailed steps for putting the strategies shared in 5 Easy Ways into action, including sample communications and marketing materials, recommended resources and project checklists.
In addition, I'll share with you the step-by-step blueprint I used to:
raise my rates 40% without losing any students due to price increases
achieve an average 7-year retention rate among students that grew despite rate increases
cut back my teaching hours while increasing in my income
