It's almost here - that time when we step back into our school year schedules and begin a new teaching chapter.
For me, this time of year has always been bittersweet. On one hand, I look forward to welcoming students back and ushering in a new and exciting year of learning and growing. On the other hand, I'm wistful that another summer is coming to a close and the longer, lazier days and lighter teaching schedule are almost behind me.
To make the shift from summer to fall teaching, I find it helpful to have a manageable music studio checklist of all the things I need to accomplish before summer's end to make fall teaching a success.
By breaking these tasks down into weekly steps (and adding some fun music tasks into the mix), I'm able to stay on track for the new year without feeling overwhelmed.
I developed The Ultimate Fall Studio Checklist to help you get ready for fall while still enjoying your summer. This music studio checklist is FREE and is available here:
Here's why I think you'll find this freebie valuable:
It's based on 25 years of teaching experience. Everything I've learned over the years about preparing for a new teaching year went into this checklist. Over time, I learned that some tasks were worth my time and some definitely weren't. This list reflects what I learned and how I prepare for fall now in a way that's efficient and effective without ruining the end of my summer with unnecessary tasks or frantic last-minute preparations.
It helps you prioritize your time and manage your energy. To have our fall lessons go smoothly, we must do some preparation in the summer. But doing this in a measured way while thoughtfully managing our time and energy is the difference between feeling frantic and exhausted right before a new year or rested and well-prepared. This checklist combines necessary preparation steps with inspiring activities to keep you both on-task and energized.
It's comprehensive, helping you prepare for all aspects of teaching. Over the years I learned that fall teaching prep needs to happen in a variety of ways. Everything from streamlined communications to strategic marketing efforts to effective lesson planning is necessary for a studio to run well.
This cheat sheet has you covered! It includes tasks related to:
lesson planning
administrative processes
lesson policies
marketing and recruitment
student/parent communications
billing and payments
studio maintenance
If you're interested in enjoying the last weeks of summer while also starting your school year teaching fresh and prepared, this FREE checklist is for you!
